Allen Raine was the pseudonym of the Welsh novelist Anne Adalisa Beynon Puddicombe (6 October 1836 – 21 June 1908). She was one of the most popular authors of the turn of the century, with her books selling millions of copies across Britain and the States, where early films were made of her novels. They were also translated into several languages.
