He was then director of an independent film company before working and teaching about film documentaries in Europe and India. He has been a professional writer, mostly of biographies and for The New Statesman and History Today , for the last 15 years. Margaret Percy is a former BBC TV News presenter, and has written and presented TV documentaries. She has also written articles for The Guardian , The Listener , Radio Times , The Irish Times and various United Nations publications. She is married to Hugh.
