Geraint Wyn Hughes is a professional micropalaeontologist and university lecturer whose interest in Anglesey was founded during regular trips to the island in his childhood. Since then, he has continued to enlarge his knowledge of the island with topics ranging from geology and history to natural history and present-day industry. He has written numerous publications on geology but this is his first book for Amberley.

As an island of 715 square kilometres off the north-west coast of Wales, Anglesey has a fascinating history. Separated from the mainland by the narrow Menai Strait, the island’s complex geological foundations include some of the oldest rocks in Wales.
