Coming from a mixed-race background, Lawrence was born in North London in 1979. He lived in various places throughout his early years before settling in Ipswich where he completed his schooling. In 1998 he began studying Politics at the University of Kent, and after graduating has remained in the Canterbury area ever since. He is a former national champion barman and an ex-member of the Great Britain Kendo squad. Lawrence joined Kent Police in 2005 as civilian member of support staff and became a warranted officer in 2008. His policing career saw many highlights, including the presentation of a Royal Humane Society award for being part of a group of six officers whose collective actions saved the life of woman trapped underwater in a car in 2011. A keen NFL fan, Lawrence was a Staff Writer for three years in the late two-thousand-and-teens for US sports website RamblinFan.com, producing weekly articles about his beloved St Louis (now Los Angeles) Rams. Now redefining himself as an author, Jasper’s Adventures Across the Multiverse is the first of what he hopes to be a successful children’s series. Lawrence is married and has two sons.
