Professor Hywel Wyn Owen is a director of the Place-Name Research Centre at Bangor University and Vice President of the Society for Name Studies in Britain and Ireland. He is a renowned authority on the place-names of Wales, a consultant to national bodies, and a regular broadcaster. Richard Morgan is a retired archivist and honorary lecturer at the School of Welsh at Bangor University. He has written numerous articles in historical journals and books over a period of nearly 40 years on the subjects of Welsh history and place-names.
