This volume is a tribute to the valleys, especially to the women who do the tending work there. This is a collection that explores how the landscape and its people are deeply intertwined. The valleys are more than just a backdrop to these stories; this is what shapes the characters and often steers their fate as well. Twelve daughters; twelve places in the Valleys; twelve stories.

Un o Drelewis yng Nghwm Taf-Bargod yw Lois ac mae hi bellach yn byw ym mhentref cyfagos Nelson gyda'i gŵr Llion, a'i meibion Joseff a Bedwyr. Astudiodd Gymraeg ym Mhrifysgol Aberystwyth ac mae hi bellach yn gweithio yng Ngholeg y Cymoedd. Ailgydiodd mewn ysgrifennu ar ôl seibiant hir yn magu plant, gwylio ffilmiau maffia a siopa. Enillodd gystadleuaeth stori fer Sebra ac Ysgoloriaeth Emyr Feddyg yn 2024. Yn sgil ennill Ysgoloriaeth Emyr Feddyg, cafodd y cyfle i weithio gyda a chael ei mentora gan yr awdur, Lleucu Roberts.

Bywgraffiad yr Awdur / Author Biography

Lois is from Trelewis in Cwm Taf-Bargod and she now lives in the nearby village of Nelson with her husband Llion, and her sons Joseff and Bedwyr. She studied Welsh at Aberystwyth University and now works at Coleg y Cymoedd. She resumed writing after a long break raising children, watching mafia films and shopping. She won the Sebra short story competition and the Emyr Feddyg Scholarship in 2024. As a result of winning the Emyr Feddyg Scholarship, she had the opportunity to work with and be mentored by the author, Lleucu Roberts.
