Although this is a title for children, it doesn’t ignore the less glamorous aspects of Dylan’s life, the heavy drinking, the unreliability, and the failure to manage money. But the chief focus is on the poet’s achievement in using memories of his own childhood to make the reader smile and, maybe, to inspire writers of the future to treasure their own memories of childhood.
