Immortalised in Max Boyce's 'The Pontypool Front Row', he was a key member of the 1970s Golden Era Wales team in a period in which they dominated Northern Hemisphere rugby, winning three Grand Slams and four Triple Crowns. Faulkner died in early 2023 prior to publication. Over 40 images.

Born in Newport in 1941, Charlie Faulkner was a legend of Golden Era 1970s Welsh rugby, having played for Pontypool, Wales and the British & Irish Lions. He died in early 2023. Greg Lewis is an award-winning TV writer, documentary-maker and producer, and a much-respected journalist who has contributed to The Times, The Observer and The Wall Street Journal, among others. He is the co-author of Shadow Warriors of World War II: The Daring Women of the OSS and SOE, Defying Hitler: The Germans Who Resisted Nazi Rule, Aberfan, A Life on the Edge and The Death of Justice.
