Bywgraffiad yr Awdur / Author Biography
Nigel Yates is Senior Research Fellow in Modern Church History at the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Wales, Lampeter, and Director of the Department's Research Centre. He is also Provincial Archives Adviser to the Church in Wales and former County Archivist of Kent and City Archivist of Portsmouth. The pre-Reformation section of the introduction is written by Dr. Jonathan Wooding, Senior Lecturer in Medieval Church History and Director of the Centre for the Study of Religion in Celtic Societies, University of Wales, Lampeter.

Individual sections for six geographical areas in Wales (Mid, North-East, North-West, South, South-East, South-West) include a brief introductory paragraph outlining architectural highlights of churches and chapels in the region, followed by descriptions of the selected churches and chapels. These sections include about 200 entries altogether of approximately 200 words each, but with some variation between the size of sections for the larger rural areas and those for the more compact, largely urban areas like the South and South-East.
