She already had strong links with Ysgol Bancyfelin as it was also her first teaching post where she taught between 1987 and 1990. Bancyfelin is a small village in the heart of West Wales in an area rich in culture and history. For centuries the surrounding area has played an important role in the education of young people. Through the generosity of local benefactor Madam Bridget Bevan of Derllys Court, the Welsh charity schools and circulating schools, between a third and a half of the population of Wales were taught to read during the 18th century. However, it wasn’t until 1872 that there was a permanent school building present in Bancyfelin.
