When he retired from rugby, he became one of the resident captains on A Question of Sport and has since been in demand as a broadcaster with BBC, ITV and S4C. He was knighted in 2015 for services to sport and to charitable services. Author and broadcaster Alun Wyn Bevan is a former first-class referee and headmaster, and he has been closely associated with a series of Gomer’s bestsellers, including Stradey Stories (2005), Grav in his Own Words (2008), Welsh Rugby Captains (2010), Alun Wyn Jones’s World Cup Year (2011) and Phil Bennett’s The Greatest Scarlets XV Ever (2014).
